Collector's Item!

This should be old news, if you're a Beyonce' fan. I'm sure absolutely NOTHING stopped you from purchasing Live At Roseland: Element 4 YESTERDAY!!! She is such an amazing performer! To be pregnant in heels, have less stamina than usual, and STILL be able to dance and sing for at least two hours straight is mind-boggling!!! And since there won't be a tour in the near future, you need to take advantage!

Don't wait for Christmas to see if it's in your stocking. GET IT NOW!!! If the shelves are empty, take the entire tag off the display and scan it! It'll tell you whether or not more are in the stockroom! Trust me I know. Don't worry about ticking off the salesperson. They might be mad, but chances are they won't tell you that! Besides, we are the economy!

I also recommend Adele: Live At The Royal Albert Hall! She doesn't get enough credit and she has a spectacular voice, as well. I've never seen her live, but I've enjoyed both CDs! She won't be shaking a tail-feather, but I'm sure you can relate to her music!

Breaking News!

Kourtney Kardashian: I'm Pregnant!
photo: usmagazine.com

OMG! I just read that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are expecting their second child! (Since US Weekly is reporting it, I'm going to believe this one)! Kourtney is about nine weeks along, according to US Weekly. Well, if they're happy, I'm happy for them! Little Mason is so cute... I can't wait to see all this  unfold on episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians! CONGRATULATIONS KOURT! Can't wait for this issue to hit the shelves!

EnTIGHTcing!

There's been A LOT of buzz around the blogosphere about bondage tights. So, I thought I'd spread the word! These edgy tights are a product of Wolford; a company that specializes in, (but not limited to) luxurious legwear and bodywear. IF you are able to find them, they will run you about $65.00!!! Maybe there's an extra perk with these nylons, like contouring or something??? I'll have to see what I can find that will give me the same sexiness, at a price that I can justify!

There are so many options at whatever price-point you choose. Anything from polka dots, stripes, animal prints, colored tights, printed tights, you name it! And don't forget about what has become the #1 staple item in EVERY girls closet.... LEGGINGS! Add a t-shirt and/or sweater, boots, and accessories... Voila', Lazy-chic in no time! Speaking of leggings, let me say this... Ladies, I love street fashion... HOWEVER, when wearing leggings, please take proportion and fabric into consideration!!! What do I mean by that? Glad you asked! I hate seeing twisted seams, wedgies, "framework", and well... your panties! (Something my friends and I would call: when-keeping-it-real-goes-wrong)! Sometimes leggings are too sheer. I understand you have nothing to hide, but please cover that up! No worries... It's a quick fix! Just wear top that covers your secret!!!

Hats On!

I'm sure most of you have at least admired, if not flirted with the idea of purchasing one of the latest 'it' accessories of the season... HATS!!!
I recently purchased a SUPER-CUTE wide-brim, floppy hat! I haven't worn it yet... I feel like I need a reason to wear it because it adds a lot of drama! If you're going for a vintage or Bohemian look... the floppy, wide-brim is definitely for you!
wide brim hats

If the wide-brims are a bit much for you, go for the classic, but hip fedora! This hat looks great on everyone! I love a little embellishment like a feather or a ribbon on the side.

Fedora Hats

Fedoras are great year round, just make sure you're not wearing straw in the winter! :)

Fedora Hats

Hats can be a little intimidating because they're attention-grabbers! The only time I think about wearing a hat is when my hair remixes on me! So, I'm glad to have a few more options for days like that!

Kim K Is.... FORGIVEN!

I don't know about you, but I was NOT about to miss last night's premiere of  Kourtney & Kim Take New York!  I thought I would boycott the show, because of the divorce fiasco! I'm glad I didn't! Now, Kris Humphries is probably sweet as Grandma's potato pie, but it was agonizing to watch Kim & Kris's marital bliss! O_o
Initially, I was REALLY disappointed (but not surprised) when Kim filed for divorce... BUT, after watching last night's episode, I wondered how they made it THAT far??? He never seemed to 'click' with the family, nor did he seem like Kim's type! If it weren't for the occasional kisses and hugs, I would have thought they were siblings! I literally had an attitude the entire hour!

Having words: Kim and Kris had a heated row which resulted in Kris storming off
photo: eonline.com

I'm not saying that Kris didn't genuinely (think that he) loved Kim or that he deserved any of the heartbreak and humiliation! The show will definitely validate Kim's reasoning behind her decision, (although I'd much rather see how she fell for him in the first place). Needless to say, they wanted different things... Neither seemed willing to compromise...blah, blah, blah... Quite frankly, there are a number of reasons why they probably shouldn't be together. I don't really care about that at this point! I just want to watch TV!!!

Bliss Is Back!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday vacation! I sure did... Now, we are officially counting down to the most-wonderful-time-of the-year!!! Anyone catch any amazing Black Friday deals??? My friends and I wanted to catch some of the midnight deals at the mall... So, we skipped our fun-filled sleep over and two-hour power naps, and headed over to a packed mall... Only to leave out empty-handed, with the exception of Raven... She scored THE LAST PAIR of some cool, black animal print tights from Nine West! We felt swindled! Only a few (irrelevant) stores opened at midnight. As you can tell, we were very disappointed!

We were determined to get something, so we went to Target... And after standing in that ridiculous line for almost 2 hours, I came out with a fashion magazine, 2 CDs, and a tall caramel apple cider from Starbucks! (Same thing I would have bought on a regular day)! How disappointing! I NEVER have a hard time shopping. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise for what's to come???

That being said, I REALLY enjoyed my rounds going from the kitchen to the couch and time spent with my family and friends! Hopefully we'll have better luck today for Cyber-Monday???
Did you find any amazing deals that you'd like to share? Maybe you'd like to share a few holiday memories ... If so, leave a comment or email me pics at fashionblog1006@gmail.com!

P.S. Did anyone catch Kourtney & Kim Take New York Season Premiere or The Housewives of Atlanta last night? GREAT TV!!!!

New Music Monday!!! (WORTH IT OR WORTHLESS)???

Photo: mtv.com

So, Rihanna has released her sixth studio album today- Talk That Talk! The Deluxe version features 11 tracks+ 3 bonus tracks. According to the reviews I've read, this album is much lighter than previous releases. It's more fun, still sexy and a little raunchy! I personally couldn't imagine a sexless Rihanna...
Jay-Z and Calvin Harris are the ONLY featured artists on the album. Word has it that if you were a fan of Loud, you'll most likely enjoy Talk That Talk!!!
I think I'm going support this album. I was sold on her first single, We Found Love! Now, I just have to figure out if I want the Deluxe version or not!

Did I miss a must-have? If so, leave a comment!

Tracklist:
1. You Da One

What's Fur Got To Do With It?

photo:smallshopstudio.com

Remember when faux fur was a fashion faux pas? Well, not anymore! It's a win-win situation for us, ladies. Why is that? 1.) It has less of a strain on our pockets. 2.) We won't have to dodge paint thrown by P.E.T.A. advocates!!! I have fallen victim to the faux fur vests! I bought my first one last year and one this year. I love how versatile they are. You can wear them with anything from jeans to dresses... Blouses to t-shirts... Even solids to patterns! The only drawback I have is that the little Acrylic fiber-creatures get everywhere sometimes. Other than that, it can take an outfit from drab to fab in .2 seconds. The vests are available in several lengths, so have fun. You don't have to limit yourselves to fur vests. You can add a little pizazz with the fur collars, coats, hats... OR, you can be the apple-bottom-jeans-boots-with-the-(FAUX)-fur girl. (Please, 86 the apple-bottom jeans though)! Remember, fur is a HUGE statement by itself! So, DON'T OVER-DO IT! I personally wouldn't wear a FUR vest and FUR boots, with a FUR hat to match! Can you say GRIZZLY-CHIC gone wrong?!

I think Rachel Zoe looks AWESOME in her vest! I just had to include her in this post. Rumor has it that she gave faux fur its relevance... I'm not so sure about that, but she definitely ROCKED this look!

Extra Mustard Please!

Fall is my favorite time of year! I really enjoy watching the process of photosynthesis... Photosynthesis? Remember that term in elementary school? You know, when the leaves change colors! It's just so amazing to be able to observe the already-beautiful green leaves turn into picturesque hues of deep reds, golden yellows, and burnt oranges…  Colors so remarkable, you just HAVE to wear them! THAT is why I have been totally infatuated with mustard-yellow this season! It’s rich and it looks great on every skin tone.

Mustard not you color? Try burgundy, burnt orange, deep teal,  navy, or hunter green. I will be!

AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!

RE: All Tied Up!

This has to be the most rewarding part about blogging, especially when you're just starting out! I am so thrilled to share these pics from one of my Blissful Followers, Le'Chic in Atlanta, GA! She found her emerald-colored, bow-tie blouse for $16.99 at Rainbow! What a steal?! According to Le’Chic, this blouse comes in a rich chocolate brown, classic tan, and a bold fuchsia pink! Thanks again for your blissful venting!

As you can see, I love feedback! If you have pics or blissful vents you'd like to share, feel free to email me at fashionblog1006@gmail.com or leave a comment! :)

Cosmetic Buffet

'Tis the season for great bargains and fabulous finds! Now is the time to sample all the best-selling cosmetics and fragrances you've always wanted to try. They also make awesome gifts or stocking stuffers. Sephora is a great place to indulge at a reasonable price (at least during this time of year). I'm a little embarrassed to share this story, but I'll share it anyways. Last year, I received one the Sephora Favorite Fragrance Sets. At first glance, I was disappointed to see a bunch of little “perfume samples!” After I put my foot in my mouth, I realized that I had a voucher to purchase a full-sized bottle… Oops! It’s actually a good marketing tool because chances are you’re going to want them all... Especially if you're a Libra!

Don't miss your chance to stock your make-up bags with the latest goodies! Don't forget about Target... I always find good deals there too! I love to buy the E.L.F. lip glosses which are ALWAYS super-cheap! All this talk is pumping me up for Black Friday! Can't wait to see what deals I find. If you happen to stumble across something major, email me the who, what, when, and where at fashionblog1006@gmail.com. Pics are also welcomed! Can't wait to see what you add to your my bag!!!

Walking With Flare

Flare is back and I'm on a '70s kick! My favorite style of flared denim is the HIGH-RISE! I emphasize high-rise, so that you won’t get that awful visual of high-waisted-gone-wrong. Remember that trend a few years ago? So many fashion felons!  I love this cut because I adore the silhouette. They hug whatever curves you may have, elongate the legs AND make you appear thinner! What's not to like? Three benefits in one pair of jeans?... I'm sold!

photos above: trendenvy.blogspot.com

Remember, flare doesn't mean that you should be tripping up on a bunch of excessive fabric. If you want to try the high-rise cut, make sure it hits a little below your belly button (not under your breasts)! I would suggest wearing them with a nice blouse (tucked in), a skinny belt, and chunky heels! Don't forget to accessorize! If want to turn a few more heads, add a nice floppy hat!

All Tied Up!

Trend Report
photo: whowhatwear.com

One of my new obsessions... The 70's inspired bow-tie blouse! It's sexy, sophisticated, romantic and uber feminine... I swear this particular blouse makes me want to speak French! Parlez-vous franƧais?... TrĆØs magnifique!!! (OK, enough of that)! I REALLY want the one below, but I'm afraid to know what Neiman Marcus is demanding for it $$$$...

proenza-schouler-scarf-top-romantic-blouse

It's very versatile...You can pair them with skirts, pants, or even jeans!

Want to turn it up a notch? Try layering it with a V-neck sweater or cardigan.
C'mon ladies... I think we should all have a least one!

Color Your Day With Denim

Remember Cross Colours??? Maybe Punky Brewster was more your style. Either way, if you grew up in the '80s, then you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about! Because in the '90s, we were rockin' crazy COLORED DENIM! I'm so happy to wear them again. Yeah, yeah so what they came back a couple of seasons ago. They're still relevant for fall! Whether you decide to color-block, wear prints, or pair them with a neutral top-- JUST GO FOR IT! Remember, you don't have to look like a Skittle. You have the option of more subdued colors like pale pink, brick red, brown or olive green. Choose your favorite shade and make it you!

Going Green...

I am SO digging shades of military greens on my nails these days! Now, some of these colors may not look appealing in the bottle, but I PROMISE it's worth a try! It's both sexy and sophisticated, as well as work-appropriate for most industries...

I just recently purchased Westside Warrior and Trendsetter (swatches below) by China Glaze. I couldn't decide which color I wanted to wear first, so I used both! They complement each other... So, why not? Ladies, put those Ulta coupons to good use or go to your local drugstore or superstore and find something comparable! --SALUTE!!!

Pouncing In the City...

I think every woman should have an animalistic instinct... In their closet that is! I understand that leopard is a very bold print and can be very intimidating. However, if you purchase a few key pieces, you can spice up your wardrobe and prowl around town in style! Here are a few examples below:
Leopard Accessories

HingeĀ® Leopard Print Eternity Scarf

I love to wear leopard prints with bold accent colors like fiery reds, hot pinks, and spicy orange! Of course you can always rev up your all black ensembles with leopard pumps or booties! Be careful not over-do animal prints. To much "growl" can be road-kill... I mean over-kill!

R.I.P. Heavy D. (May 24, 1967 - November 8, 2011)

This is not how I wanted my blog to start. And no, this is NOT a blissful moment! However, I have to pay my respects... This is definitely a sad day in music... Legendary '90s rapper Heavy D. -- real name Dwight Arrington Myers, was pronounced dead at an L.A. hospital at 1:00pm. He was 44 years old. Police are investigating, but do not suspect foul play...

heavy d bet

R.I.P. Heavy D. You will be missed!
