Not So Fast!!!

Just as fast as things begin, they sometimes come to and end even faster!!! 

Aretha Franklin and long time friend Willie Wilkerson have decided to call off there summer nuptials! Franklin released the following statement: "Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there are a number of things that have not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all the many well wishes from friends."

Moving too fast??? ***side eye*** I beg to differ! BUT, I respect her decision because I personally don't want to hear about another divorce!

Explosive Matrimony!

  Okay, what is going on in Hollywood? Another one of my favorite couple are splitting.... Heidi Klum and Seal! This is NOT your typical "Hollywood split." No, No, No! The couple has amicably decided to end their seven year marriage because of Seal's inability to control his temper!

Heidi and Seal are know for their public affection, chic red carpet appearances and their annual renewal of their wedding vows. I HOPE that they can somehow work out their difference for the sake of love and their lovely children...

R.I.P: Etta James

 Legendary jazz singer, Etta James lost her battle with leukemia this morning at Riverside Community Hospital in California, at the age of 73. She was diagnosed with chronic leukemia in January 2011. Documents show that James also suffered from kidney failure and dementia. She leaves behind her husband and two sons, who were by her side during her last moments.

Beach Bum!

Last summer, I traveled with my family to Florida. I've been reminiscing ever since. We visited a few places, but my favorite was the beach (even though I hate putting on a bathing suit)! The weather was so awesome... The water was inviting... Food trucks were always on time... And of course, I had an amazing time! I didn't wanted to leave!

The water wasn't the prettiest, or the clearest, or the bluest I've ever seen... But, it was so calming and relaxing! So much so, my lips were sunburned!
 ***OUCH!***

Everyone was soaking up sun!

 Rainbows were never too far away...

I guess I'm secretly craving summertime, although I'd much rather live in the moment! Whatever the situation, it's time for me to make another splash! Hopefully on the west coast...

BEYONCE' HAS GIVEN BIRTH!!!

She delivered her baby girl via C-section naturally in NYC at Lenox Hill hospital on Saturday (January 7). Although their reps have not confirmed, it is reported that she and Jay-Z named their bundle of joy BLUE IVY CARTER!

Happy New Year everyone!!! So glad it's 2012! Wonder what the future holds? As for the Queen of  Soul, wedding bells will be ringing! Yes, Ms. Aretha Franklin is getting married! She and long-time (boy)
 friend William "Willie" Wilkerson will wed this year on Miami Beach, with an exclusive reception on a private yacht, according to PEOPLE magazine.

Wondering what that dress will look like? Me too! Her rep reveals Franklin is considering Donna Karen, Valentino, or Vera Wang to design her dress. (That make me feel a lot better)! According to the Queen, "We are looking at June or July for our date and no, I'm not pregnant! LOL!"

I'm happy for her! She gives me hope, but I pray I get married before I'm 69!
